8th Circuit Judge Mark Drummond to step down in August after 15 years on bench
A Western Illinois Circuit Court judge has decided to retire this summer.
Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Rita Garman announced Monday that Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Mark Drummond will retire August 5th. He's been an At-Large Circuit Judge in the Eighth Circuit since 2004. That area covers Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Mason, Pike and Schuyler counties. In a statement, Garman says that an application process to replace Drummond has begun. Applicants will undergo an evaluation and screening process before being appointed by the Supreme Court. Whoever's appointed will served through next November's general election.
The deadline to submit an application is Friday, June 7th.
