Adams County Sheriff's Office says she faces assault charge

A woman is being held in the Adams County Jail on an assault charge, after allegedly pulling a gun on a tow truck operator Sunday afternoon just north of Quincy.

Adams County Sheriff Brian Vonderhaar says the tow truck was hooked up to, and moving, an illegally parked vehicle in the El Rancho Vista Estates mobile home park off North 24th. In a report, the vehicle owner came out of a nearby home and, first confronted the tow truck driver, then flashed a handgun. The vehicle owner, who's not been identified, then jumped in the vehicle and sped off. That damaged the tow truck, because the tow cable was still attached to the vehicle as it drove off.

The vehicle owner was later captured, and is charged with aggravated assault.
