10 months, 3 weeks ago by Scott Hardy

Sentencing set for August 11

After just over four hours of deliberation Wednesday, a jury found Tim Bliefnick guilty of murdering his estranged wife, Rebecca Bliefnick.

A jury of six women and six men returned with a verdict shortly after 5 P.M. Wednesday afternoon in Adams County Circuit Court. Our news-gathering partners at KHQA-TV report that Blienfick was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder and one Class X count of home invasion in the February 23 shooting death of his wife, whom he filed for divorce from in January 2021. Tim Bliefnick remained stoic as the verdict was read, but one of Bliefnick's brothers, who was sitting behind him in the gallery, was weeping. Muffled cries could be heard elsewhere in the courtroom including from some of the victim's family and friends.

Right after the verdict was read, two bailiffs handcuffed Bliefnick in the courtroom, while all 12 jurors filed out one by one. Bliefnick's sentencing date is set for August 11.
