William "Chris" Niemet charged in 1991 death

A Missouri man and former owner of a now-closed Quincy restaurant, charged in the shooting death of a classmate over 30 years ago, will go on trial next summer.

William "Chris" Niemet of Fulton was in Cole County Circuit Court earlier this week. Records show he'll go on trial starting July 17th. Niemet's pleaded Not Guilty to one count of first-degree murder in the death of Greg Jones, whose body was found in June, 1991 near Russellville. Jones, who was 14, was reported missing in late April of that year. Niemet, who owned the Golden Corral restaurant in Quincy, was Jones's 15-year-old classmate.

Niemet's free on $750,000 cash-only bond, and will be have a pre-trial hearing on June 23rd.
