Dakota Laster's case will be heard in St. Louis County

One of four Hannibal men, all charged in connection with the late January 2023 beating death of a Hannibal man, has pleaded Not Guilty and will have his case heard outside Marion County.

Dakota Laster entered that plea Thursday after waiving his arraignment at a hearing in Marion County Circuit Court. A defense request to move the trial was granted, and Laster's case will be heard in St. Louis County. He and three other men all face counts of 2nd Degree Murder and Assault. Two of the men are also charged with counts of Armed Criminal Action and unlawful possession of a weapon. Charges against the men were re-filed in mid-April by the Missouri Attorney General's Office. They're helping Marion County prosecutors with the case. All four men are accused in the January 25, 2023 beating death of Taurean Snoddy. He was found lying in the street in the 1200 block of Lyon and was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

All four men are in the Marion County Jail and are being held without bond.
