Scott Burow's sentencing delayed to March 20

A Hannibal man, who worked for over 30 years as a deputy juvenile officer in Northeast Missouri, and who pleaded Guilty to illegal transport of a minor across state lines, has had his sentencing delayed.

Scott Burow was due at a sentencing hearing Friday in US District Court in St. Louis. Burow pleaded Guilty in late October to one count of transporting a minor to engage in prohibited sexual conduct, a week before his trial. Records show that the hearing was delayed to March 20th, due to a scheduling conflict with Burow's attorney. Burow was indicted in May 2022 by a Federal Grand Jury, and was a long-time Juvenile officer for the Missouri 10th District Circuit Court, covering Marion, Ralls and Monroe Counties. He was charged with one count of sex trafficking of a minor. Burow admitted to soliciting a 15-year old girl, and a ward of the state of Illinois, to engage in a sex act at Burow's home in Hannibal between late March and early April 2020. He's also alleged to have secretly videotaping her. Hannibal police searched Burow's home in August 2020, and say they found “numerous explicit photos and videos of women” that appeared to have been recorded by Burow. He's being held by U.S. Marshals.

Burow's son Ian is currently serving a 20-year sentence in Federal prison, after being convicted in 2015 on eight counts of child porn.
