Dr. Bryan Renfro starts January 4

John Wood Community College will have a new President early next year.

The John Wood Board of Trustees Wednesday night announced that they unanimously approved the appointment of the Dr. Bryan Renfro as the College’s seventh president. That was done at a special Board meeting. Renfro will take over starting January 4th, and will succeed President Michael Elbe. He announced his retirement earlier this year, effective December 31st. Renfro was appointed after a national search that involved both campus and community participation. Renfro's wife is from Quincy. He currently is the Vice President of Academic Instruction at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas.

Renfro has a master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas and a doctorate from Iowa State University in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in Community College Leadership.
