Iowa State Patrol says crash happened near intersection of Main Street, Plank Road
One person's dead after an early-morning traffic crash Wednesday in Keokuk.
The Iowa State Patrol say the crash happened just before 1:00 A.M. Wednesday in the 3500 block of Main Street, near the intersection with Plank Road and Carbide Lane. A report says that an as-yet-unidentified person was north on Main when they lost control of their car. The car then went off the road and a hit a utility pole. The driver was taken to the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, where they were pronounced dead.
The ISP says that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. They add that the the crash remains under investigation.
