Asks Blessing to rescind transfer decision
Quincy Medical Group has responded to a letter sent to an Illinois state review board in March, over Blessing Health System's plans to end a transfer agreement with QMG for its' proposed birth center in the Quincy Town Square.
In a letter dated Wednesday and sent to the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, QMG disputes Blessing Health System's claims laid out in a March 17th letter to the Review Board. QMG CEO Carol Brockmiller wrote that Blessing's letter is "void of any valid justification for Blessing’s unilateral decision to terminate the Transfer Agreement." Brockmiller also wrote that Blessing has been aware of QMG's agreement with Duly Health and Care for months, and says that Blessing never contacted her or anyone at QMG about the proposed merger. Brockmiller also wrote that the letter from Blessing was "the same song, second verse in what appears to be Blessing’s obstructionist competitive strategy aimed at protecting its monopoly." She wants Blessing to rescind its' termination of the transfer agreement. QMG also revealed that it has signed transfer agreements with both Memorial Hospital in Carthage, and Hannibal Regional Healthcare System.
QMG will bring its' proposal for the Birth Center before the Review Board at its' meeting later this month. QMG's letter is posted below.
