I knew my interest in the World Series would hit absolute zero while sitting in a bar at a casino. It was a few weeks back. I was nursing a complimentary soft drink and watching the Cubs play the Nationals in an afternoon game.
The song gently caressing my ears from the casino bar speakers was "Why Me Lord", which is weird enough to hear in a casino.
Then, right when Kris Kristofferson got to the lyric "Lord, help me Jesus, I've wasted it so, help me Jesus...." a Cubs infielder made a critical error that eventually lost them the game and the play-offs.
New rule: The Cardinals are required to be in the World Series henceforth and forever. Astros and Dodgers? Who cares!
