Trial dates set for two in 2022 Hannibal beating death

Trial dates set for two in 2022 Hannibal beating death

1 week, 6 days ago by Scott Hardy

Jason Anderson & Tiara Bonner will go on trial September 23

Two Hannibal residents, among four people charged in connection with the October 2022 beating death of a Hannibal man, will go on trial this fall in the St. Louis area.

Both Jason Anderson and Tiara Bonner were in St. Charles County Circuit Court Monday, where for now, both will have 5-day trials starting September 23rd. Their cases were moved to St. Charles County after an agreement was reached earlier this year between the pair’s lawyers and prosecutors. A hearing on motions filed last week by Anderson’s lawyer, asking that his case be tried separately from Bonner's, will be held May 10th. Anderson claims his case would be prejudiced if he was tried with Bonner. Both face charges of 2nd Degree Murder and 1st Degree Assault, which were re-filed in January by the Missouri Attorney General's Office. The pair are accused of taking part in the October 9th, 2022 beating death of Dusty Wilson, outside a bar in the 100 block of North Main Street.

Bonner and Anderson are held in the Marion County Jail without bond.
